SAFIA has an exclusive agreement with EESIFLO for the distribution of their water in oil monitoring equipment throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
EESIFLO manufactures high quality water in fuel monitoring products used in marine systems, engines, purifiers, oil separators, power plants, metering stations, oil refineries, gas oil separation plants, 2 and 3 stage separators, pipelines and custody transfer metering stations as a compliment to crude oil samplers.
What is a Watercut Meter?
EESIFLO has been designing it’s unique range of water in oil analyzers for more than 2 decades. The EASZ-1 and EASZ-2 are used by several international major oil and gas operators as a convenient method of measuring the presence of water in crude oil and various hydrocarbons. The latest development is the wide range oscillator type called the EASZ-2 which has unmatched resolution in all ranges. This watercut meter is available as a full-bore flow through type and also as an insertion type watercut monitor.
The water cut is the percentage of water in crude oil. The amount of water in crude oil can be measured by using a centrifuge or a lab instrument. This type of measurement uses a spot sample which will determine the water content in a crude oil pipeline at different time intervals.
Since the water content in crude oil can vary considerably over a time period, an inline instrument called a “water cut meter” can be installed in the pipeline to continually monitor the amount of water present in real time 24 hours a day.
Water cut meters are typically used in the petroleum industry to measure the water cut of oil flowing from a well, produced oil from a separator, and crude oil transfer in pipelines, loading tankers and custody transfer metering systems . They are often an integral piece to a multiphase flow metering skid which comprises a cyclone separator, coriolis meter, ultrasonic meter for gas and a watercut for the oil/water ratio measurement. Safia is a fluid measurement company specializing in Water Cut Monitors with a focus on crude oil (also known as BS&W, OWD, WFM or Water in Oil Analyzers) for the Oil & Gas Industry .
Where to find a Watercut Meter Supplier in Saudi Arabia?
If you are looking for a dedicated company with the ability to assist in the selection, supply and installation of inline crude oil watercut monitoring, then SAFIA has the personnel inhouse to complete a project. We have experience in the successful implementation of inline water detection and monitoring of any type of crude oil. Our facilities are ready to not only supply solutions in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also provide expertise locally. We are teamed up with EESIFLO in our Riyadh facility to provide the additional services that are required to enable busy operators the advantage of a local presence with not only sales but also service capabilities.
EESIFLO also manufacture inline water in oil sensors for the general industry. This includes power plant systems, lubrication and hydraulic systems and anywhere that water contamination in an oil could be an issue. The EASZ-1 and EASZ-2 can also be installed on oil purifiers to monitor the oil and water separation process. A crude oil spot sample will give information on water content at the time the sample was taken but inline water monitors will give updates in real time on the actual water content measured.

Typical Applications in Saudi Arabia
- Three-Phase Separators
- Two-Phase Separators
- Test Separators
- Production Separators
- Horizontal Separators
- Vertical Separators
- Cyclone Separators
- Scrubber Separators
3-phase separators are pressure vessels used to divide fluids into three phases: gas, oil and aqueous. They are usually designed to remove associated gas and oily water from crude oil, and after this first rough separation, oil can be sent to further treatment.
2-phase separators separate the well fluids into gas and total liquid. A two-phase separator can be horizontal, vertical or spherical. The liquid (oil, emulsion) leaves the vessel at the bottom through a level-control or dump valve
LACT – After initial drilling and production, the resources are separated, and custody or ownership of oil is typically transferred from an upstream producer to a midstream oil and gas company for storage or transportation.
LACT stands for Lease Automatic Custody Transfer. A LACT Unit is a piece of oil and gas equipment used to sample and measure oil so it can be transferred from one company to another.
In many cases, the watercut meter has also become an integral component of a custody transfer crude oil sampling system
